In This Digital Age Quest Campus has a mission.........

Charleville Castle is the hub of a growing network of facilities and alliances, which make up Quest Campus. The mission of Quest is to gear people, from a vast array of backgrounds, cultures and nationalities, for a world in which interdependence and international collaboration play an increasingly important role.

No single class room, book, professor or university can convey the depth of content and learning adequate for this new world of rapid change, uncertainty and situational diversity. The learning journey, once begun, is never ending. More then ever it is a journey of exploration and discovery, not only focused on what can be done, but also focused on the gaps. There is so much that is yet to be discovered, so much to be rediscovered and so much yet that is left undone. Our programs, our activities, are focused on re-awakening the spirit of the Quest, particularly in young adults. But also we are increasingly being used as a network hub and support center for many who are fully engaged on the frontline of discovery and inter-cultural collaboration.

We are keen to advance our mission with greater speed and sense of purpose. Realistically it takes time to assemble the resources and develop appropriate programs. But the volatile situation across the globe does point to the urgency. In particular, we seek to achieve a greater recognition for the wisdom of solving the inequities, which persist between the highly developed countries and the under-developed world. The opportunities far outweigh the costs. A vast array of issues spring immediately to the fore; new markets, production capabilities, improved living standards, peace and the disarmament of terrorism. Additionally, any great upward shift in the pace of development will throw up huge issues of sustainability, threat to family structures, education, the environment, cleaner technologies and advances in health.

Formed in 1996, Quest remains in its embryonic stage of development but it is putting in place a fabulous center in Charleville Castle, in the heart of Ireland, and a network of people and institutions committed to these voluntary aspirations, both big and small. Quest is small but its vision is large. The challenge is great, but each new learner brings us closer to where we are seeking to go. The little steps can lead more quickly to the great.
Ireland has a long track record of neutrality and fair dealing with all countries and people. It has long been committed to the advancement of security and living standards and the welfare of less advantaged peoples. This is where we have set our flag and from here we put our call.
